Government Akhandanand Ayurveda Hospital is a premier hospital of the state which is located in centre of the city providing quality Ayurvedic Healthcare. Hospital was established in 1965, inaugurated by Shri Moraraji bhai desai on 26th January, 1965. Hospital is associated with College of Ayurveda and provides platform for clinical training to the Undergraduate and Post Graduate students of the College.
The Hospital enjoys a healthy OPD of about 500 patients daily and is also having Indoor facilities of 124 beds. Patients are diagnosed here with Classical Ayurvedic concepts along with modern diagnostic equipment as well. Also all patients are treated here with classical Aurvedic medicines and procedure. The treatment modules as well as the wide range of diseases treated here have made this hospital among the leading Ayurvedic Teaching Hospitals in the country.
The Hospital offers Panchkarma treatment in various chronic disorders, Shalya(surgery) treatment wherein diseases like piles, fistula etc are treated, Shalakya treatment is given in ophthalmic as well as ENT disorders, Stri Roga Prasuti tantra department deals with the treatment of various gynaecological disorders, Kaumarbhritya department looks after the pediatric care. Swasthavritta department helps in treatment of various disorders through yogic method and also focuses in preventive care. The Hospital is having a unique Thalassemia specialty clinic wherein patients suffering from Thalassemia Major are treated with Aja rakta Basti(Goat’s Blood Anemia). All the treatment are offered free of cost to the Patients.
